(Starbucks) Style Stalker: Spring street fashion
The most reliable sign that spring has officially revealed its sunny head and the luscious days of summer are not too far off has nothing to do with rising temperatures and blossoming flowers. No, you only know for sure that the dreary, messy winter is indeed far behind when classic (& new) spring/summer fashion trends begin to pepper the streets (& yes, the nearest Starbucks).
Go out and see for yourself. Summer brights, nautical prints, crisp whites, cropped denim and beachy neutrals are now out in full, lustrous bloom (finally).
I have to admit, I’m a bit of a people watcher when it comes to the unmistakably well dressed. Many Torontonians are well put together, and one can take away a wealth of inspiration just by walking the city sidewalks (or feeding your–let’s face it–unsavoury addiction to lattes, frapps and the like). It’s like your very own living, breathing walking lookbook: a helpful aid in deciding the next look(s) you’re going to construct for yourself, or the next piece you’re going to scour your favourite shopping haunts for. It really is all about the hunt, isn’t it?
What are your favourite spring/summer trends?
As a classic minimalist, I’m all about mixing basics and infusing small bursts of colour. So no, I could never pull off those blaring tights. The stripes and neutrals though, are another story. Call me boring, but the classics have my heart, no matter the season.
